APSMO Circle of Excellence
APSMO Circle of Excellence
At APSMO, we know that the success of our programs and competitions lies in the dedication and passion of teachers who inspire their students to embrace the challenge of problem solving. To honour their long-term commitment, we are proud to introduce the APSMO Circle of Excellence — a recognition program that celebrates teachers who have guided students through the Maths Olympiad, Maths Games, Maths Explorer or Maths Quest for 5, 10, 15 and even 20+ years.
Honouring Distinguished Service
The Circle of Excellence has been developed to acknowledge and celebrate teachers who have supported APSMO’s mission to promote and improve maths problem solving skills amongst all primary and high school students. These educators have invested countless hours in encouraging students to think critically, explore creative solutions, and develop a love of mathematics.
By providing a distinction of service award, APSMO seeks to not only celebrate individual achievements, but also to highlight the vital role teachers play in strengthening mathematics education and problem solving across Australasia.
What the Program Recognises
Through the Circle of Excellence, APSMO recognises:
- Expertise and Commitment – Teachers who consistently demonstrate dedication, and perseverance in developing students’ problem-solving abilities.
- Achievement and Contribution – Educators who make a significant impact through sustained involvement in APSMO competitions and programs.
- Service and Leadership – Individuals whose influence and mentorship over many years has impacted both students and colleagues in the mathematics community.
Why It Matters
Since 1987, APSMO has worked with teachers to deliver high-quality problem-solving competitions and resources. The Circle of Excellence is an extension of this partnership — a way of saying thank you to those who have supported us year after year.
In addition, APSMO Circle of Excellence teachers will:
- Gain special access to professional learning opportunities through APSMO.
- Be invited to share their experiences in running the APSMO programs and mentor younger teachers who are starting their problem solving journey.
- Have the opportunity to meet and network with other Circle of Excellence members at events hosted by APSMO.
